Michael Martin
Michael Martin arrived in Devon in 2014 and it was upon hearing Martin tell a story, The Earth Gnome, that he was claimed by the old stories.
After attending the school’s five-weekend-programme he joined the crew, apprenticing himself to the stories and Martin Shaw’s teachings which led to a four-year training as a Wilderness Vigil guide, completed in August 2024.
Alongside Michael’s passion for myth, story, and wilderness rites of passage, he is a lecturer in design at a university in London and is currently undertaking a PhD.
He was also a facilitator on the MA Myth and Ecology at Schumacher College, and is a member of the team at Cista Mystica Press.
