Over the course of this weekend, Martin Shaw and special guests (to be announced soon) will dive deep into Biblical and saint stories. Martin will be reading from his new, unpublished manuscript on that very area, asking the question: What if God is still talking to us? Could we even recognise an angel as a prompt from our conscience? Expect a thrilling safari into the mythopoetics of Christianity: vivid storytelling with profound spiritual dimensions.

A residential course in a lovely old manor house on the edge of Dartmoor, Winter School with Dr. Martin Shaw includes 2-nights accommodation, all teaching, breakfasts and evening meals (locally sourced and seasonal where possible).

Schedule
Mornings
In the mornings Martin and guests will teach from 9am to approaching 1pm. This is a combination of story, ideas, poetry and back and forth conversation.
Afternoons
In the afternoon we will divide into small groups facilitated by the school’s core team, and then on the land exploring writing tasks Martin has suggested. On Saturday there will be a late afternoon guest lecture.
Evenings
There will be food shared together, time outside around a fire, teaching from Martin on Friday and stories on Saturday.
Included
Fees for the weekend include all teaching, accommodation, evening meals on Friday and Saturday, simple buffet breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday, and all beverages.
Meals will be vegetarian, local and seasonal where possible, cooked on site by a chef and School of Myth team.
Our base is an old manor house, and accommodation is mostly in shared rooms of up to six people.
The budget beds are bunk beds in these shared rooms. There are a few single person and two and three-person rooms.

Budget shared room: a bunk bed in a standard shared room: £510
Standard shared room: sharing with up to 6 others (single sex): £534
Twin/Triple: sharing a room with one (or two) others: £570
Double: there are a few rooms for couples, sharing a double bed: £570 FULLY BOOKED
Single: there are a few rooms for one person: £648 FULLY BOOKED
The full fee is due and include sa non-refundable deposit of £240. Payment plans are available.
